Something rather magical has come to fruition and I am so excited to tell you about it:
Tigers to Lilies has partnered up with the fantastic and one of a kind
Silver Lake Farms to have a wildflower pop-up EVERY SATURDAY for the month of April (May too, hopefully) next door to
Cookbook in their lovely space No. 2! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Here's the best part though: I am going to be picking wildflowers directly from the
Silver Lake Farms fields! That means that you're going to get
all natural wildflowers directly from their peaceful fields! No faraway shipping or flying, no packing them or spraying them down with pesticides and chemicals to make them last through arduous trips, no nothings! Just pure, happy wildflowers! Now isn't that just simple and simply wonderful?
When I met with Tara of
Silver Lake Farms this past Friday at Tara's beautiful home in Silver Lake, we realized that there needs to be more of an awareness as to what an organic lifestyle really means. It's absolutely a great place to start with your food being organic but what about the rest? Flowers are sprayed with a ton of pesticides and chemicals and these not only go right onto your skin and the air you breathe, but into the soil from the fields and surrounding water sources. Flowers do not get much limelight on this subject but they should. I'm not going to overwhelm you with tons of info or stats or numbers right now, but there is something to be said about having natural flowers, don't you think? What are your thoughts? How do you feel about this?
For now let's just start with baby steps! More than anything, I am so honored to get the opportunity to have a pop-up that sells one of my most favorite things in the world: wildflowers!
I like to keep it simple first and foremost, and for me, that means au natural and wild! No extra anything needed-- I really hope to see you there...
