Lovely Lauren sent this my way and my jaw dropped. Just the title alone, Falling Garden, conveys so many prolific thoughts. This confetti + nature inspired art installation was brought into being by German artist Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzlinger and was created for the 50th Venice Biennial Art Exhibition. Did any of you see this by chance? You can read more about it here. Breathtaking. I'd so love to waste the day away laying on the ground and just staring up at this magnificent embodiment of beauty and letting thought after inspired thought pass through me...sigh.
This is a little glimpse of a flower morning for me. It's so calm and quiet out when I get up at the crack of dawn to go to the flower market. By the time I come home I usually let the flowers rest for a second while I make myself a little toast and something hot to drink. I find it so sweet that the cats, especially Button, come out and investigate and sniff the flowers and hang with me, while V.v. stays warm in bed (it's still too early for her)!
These were flowers gathered for a modern yet elegant not-so-baby-like baby shower. Magnolia + peonies + camellia branches make for a wonderful arrangement. I also got some deep purple anemones and mexican baby's breath to gather around into simple wild arrangements for the rest of the house.
Picked these up from a local photographer (sadly whose name isn't on these postcards) on our trip to Big Sur with the direct intent on sharing them with you. Something about their simplicity and easiness captured my eye.

Pretty simple and simply sweet. Would make for a nice Valentine's day gift, no?
