Little unknown fact: I really, really like creepers. I know, I can almost feel your shudder from here. I can't explain it, but I just really like them. Always have. Especially with some little socks...ooooh. Elijah says no way, and so do a lot of my friends. I don't care. I'm getting some. End of that story.

VOGUE, Australia: September Issue

Back in the middle of summer I was very politely asked to create some florals for VOGUE Australia (!!!)! Catch my breath. The September Issue. Slow down my heart rate. I almost lost my cool that's how excited and deeply honored I was. Really. It was such an incredibly nice and encouraging request, mostly because it's umm... VOGUE!!!! 

I collected myself and furiously went to work (imagine flowers flying and petals gathering and me surrounded by buckets of flowers and cats oh! and V.v. trying to chew on some fallen stems).  When it was all said and done, I was very pleased and felt very creatively satiated which is a rare feeling for me to have. Sometimes I just don't know when to stop. I don't always feel like this after projects, but this time, I really felt relaxed and confident after it was all said and done. They came out beautifully, and I couldn't be more honored to have been featured in Vogue.

When beautiful & unsuspecting Alana was coming over that day to show me her new puppy, she had no idea that I was going to steal her for my own Vogue shoot: VOGUE, TIGERS to LILIES. Hahaha! I couldn't have asked for a prettier model. Thank you Alana*

Endeavor, a bittersweet goodbye

My heart felt like I was five again and going to Disneyland when Endeavor flew over my school today and we all gathered on the rooftop to watch it soar by with such grace and dignity. It pulled at my heart strings a little, the way it was attached to the jumbo plane that was it's escort. It had two fighter jets near by providing further support and mostly, keeping it safe. It was loud and bold and even surreal. It truly was a glorious image and the last time we'll ever see Endeavor in the sky again. Nothing to do with flowers, everything to do with life.

(I never shared this short with you! It was a wonderful shoot with my friends Claire and Carly. Funny enough, this short inspired our Summer Fête and an extensive collaboration between Claire, Lauren and myself. I consider this to be some of my most inspired work in terms of floral artistry).

Spencer Studio + TIGERS to LILIES

Friends! This is SUPER exciting! My super amazing and wonderful friend Lauren Spencer King of Spencer Studio (and the Sphinx & the Milky Way) has just added a series of incredibly stunning drawings that she did for our Summer Fête this past summer. Lucky for us she is selling them in her shop! They are bold and delicate and simply put: breathtaking. What makes my heart spill over with joy is that she credits TIGERS to LILIES for the inspiration. Lauren, do you know what this does to my spirit?! Thank you dear friend.  You inspire me!

Elijah, such a lovely assistant xo

Remember last week when I said I was going away for work? Well I got the grand privilege of shooting a wedding for a very lovely couple, Sabrina and Spencer. These are some of my Polaroids that I took. The best part was having Elijah and V.v. with me in this spectacular setting in Carmel, California. So, soo, sooo dreamy. from a recent shoot at lovely Claire's house (lucky me too b/c her home is AMAZING). 

So Elijah and I are off for work up in the Carmel/Big Sur (majestic) part of California. I'll be pretty busy shooting and when not doing that will be most likely staring at trees and going on some nice walks with Elijah and V.v. So I just want to wish you a lovely weekend now. See you next week!
