Sweet peas

I did a photo shoot today with sweet peas. I really like the idea of using tins as vases. Especially if they're colorful. The sweet peas I used were only 2 colors, pink & red, but there seems to be so much color because I got to use such colorful tins!

Anyways, it's starting to feel like Fall a bit which is nice. Pumpkin lattes are also nice : )

Hydrangeas can stand alone. Even though they can be a bit fussy and wilty if left our for too long, they really make up for it with their integrity and beauty.

Those lips...

Nothing to do with flowers! Everything to do with those lips!

C + D

One of my dearest & kindred friends got married this past July and I got the honor to provide the flowers! This wasn't just any wedding either, it was absolutely sensational, breathtaking, and overall spectacular. It felt like time stopped that evening, and we all got to bathe in beautiful moment after beautiful moment. Here's to Love! See more pictures here.

(so cool that Cheri came up with all the tiny touches; all cleverly related to nature, such as the little birds holding up the seat cards or little bird's nest filled with Dragees)!

Green Feast

I was very honored to have gotten the opportunity to do the flowers for the Green Feast event last Sunday at the Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano. The event's  200 guests were seated at a 192 ft. table in between the farm's fields! Sumptuous meals were served community-style while the local producers shared brief stories of their fresh-caught seafood, seasonal vegetables, and free range meats. What a spectacular and intimate evening all in celebration of local food!
For the flowers, the theme I decided on was "wildly elegant," incorporating wildflowers in mason jars with silk black ribbon and twine to tie the windswept look of flowers into rather graceful centerpieces. Oh the joy in using recycled jars and bottles combined with re-potted angelonias to set the tone! See more pictures here*

New beginnings

It's always the small things that make me so happy: give me some beautiful scabiosas and some great fashion magazines and I'm pretty much set. I've been a graphic designer/illustrator now for about 6 years (with a heavy appreciation for photography!), and I've decided to add 'wildflowers for all occasions' to my roster. It's something that I have always done for myself and my home, and for friends and their homes, and now I'd like to extend it out to the world. But most of all, it just makes me so incredibly happy to put flowers together.
