BOOK STAND, my favorite art book stand, needs a little help (and love) for an avant-garde documentary that they are shooting. It will capture artists and creatives thoughts on processes, work and books as the film travels around the world to interview and film. I already want to see this, don't you? Let's make it happen!

Wildflower Fields of Magic, Beauty + Fairies

Happy May Day everyone! I felt it quite fitting to post Fritz Haeg's living art piece :  

Wildflowering LA 

It's Haeg's native wildflower seed sowing initiative that is both beautifying our neighborhoods and stoking out the birds and the bees (and us admirers too)! If you live in Los Angeles, please take a moment to visit one of his 50 sites. You will be so happy that you did and how please take the young ones with you too (how nice that it's free)! It's incredibly well planned and the site is easy to ready and to navigate. If you don't live in Los Angeles, then here is a little glimpse from five different sites that I visited with Elijah a few weeks back. We made an end-of-the-day date out of it! I looked to see which ones were in proximity to one another so that we could hit up a bunch in one outing, and then looked at the color codes on the site 's map to see which of the ones I selected were blooming. We ended up in the Mt. Washington / Eagle Rock area driving around with my scribbled map of addresses and cameras in hand. It truly made for a spectacular date and felt like a wildflower hunt! We were stoked every time we spotted the brown Wildflowerng LA signs and felt accomplished that we got to see all five that we set out to view. It also made me realize how much beauty we have here in California that is native, and why not use that for our lawns and gardens? Even if you only make it to one, I know that you will be so happy that you did. Happy magical wildflower hunting!

Gardenista / Less is More

Friends! I'm so very excited and hugely flattered to share with you the TIGERS to LILIES feature on Gardenista! You know how much I love Gardenista so it's an extra bonus and major honor to be there again (remember my floral crown tutorial last summer?)! I was interviewed for it by Leigh Patterson, of Synonym Journal. She detailed such a wonderful piece and what I appreciate most about it is that she stayed true to my word. No exaggerations or tales. Am I gushing too much? Oh gosh. I am just really, really happy. It is a piece that I believe in too, about how significant nature is for all of us and how we very much need it indoors as much as outdoors. How it doesn't have to be extravagant either. Meaning you can do it too! Less is More. Keep it wild, keep it natural.

As though wildflowers + handcrafted vases + herbal DONUTS weren't sweet enough, BOOK STAND has handpicked a small collection of books on love + lust in honor of St. Valentine's for my temporary space at En Soie! KOKEDAMA MADNESS

sometimes you just got put some googley eyes on  ;)

Couple of things: 

first: happy Sunday to you!

second: I had a kokedama workshop in my studio last weekend! I started the class off with mini -terrariums! F U U N N N ! ! ! 

third: sorry for the the abundance in photos, but I am working on creating another site for all my outtakes and until it's up I kinda want to share with you what I am doing! And, I have to admit, I was very proud of this class -- I am always amazed at how beautiful everyone's kokedamas turn out. A + +

Friends! You know what a big lover and admirer I am of Wilder Quarterly (I am fairly certain that you too are such grand fans)! Well they are having a really inspiring kickstarter project to create artist residencies in different cities all in the name of nature and art. After my own heart! Please take a moment to have a look at what they are trying to set free into the universe and give a buck or two? C'mon, when do I ever ask this of you? So excited for this! ;)

Edible Arrangements

Came across these from here and had to share them with you. I too often use kale (especially purple), mint, and rosemary but now I'm going to give fennel, chard (especially rainbow), and the flowering broccoli! What a sweet bouquet to give to a host too, no?
