Waterfalls & pure magic...

Friends! Look at the ethereal magic that Noemie Goudal spins!!! Ahhhh, if only we could simply transport and have a picnic at the base of that waterfall...sigh...and think, it wouldn't even splash water on us or our food! A girl can dream...I even love the name Noemie...

thank you lovely cheri for always sharing such wondrous treasures...

wildflower laboratory

It's that lovely time of year again when Evan and his wonderful Ecology Center have Green Feast, and I've been asked to do the flowers for it once more! Yipee! Last year I did a white color story, but this year I want to incorporate a lot of different colors and succulents, and make the story a bit more of a 'wild Californian' feel. Browsing through the awesome and oh-so-inspiring Design*Sponge, I came across this entry about using IKEA containers for a laboratory + plant vibe. I really like it and it got my ideas flowing...

What do you think?

Woolly Pockets

Have you seen these yet? Maybe if you live in L.A. you've driven by SmogShoppe and admired their incredible wall of vertical greens and maybe like myself you've wondered how ever did they do it?! Woolly Pockets is the answer!!! Flexible, modular, breathable garden containers that can be horizontal or vertical. Made of breathable felt! And the best part, they are really affordable. Check 'em out! I love it when design is both a practical solution and fantastic display! Woohoo for Woolly Pockets!!!!

We've been having a rather chilly summer so far. Tried to spend an afternoon at the beach yesterday but had to put my sweater back on after a couple of minutes! Take a moment to check out these beautiful images shot by Anna Ådén. She is soooo talented. This is the kind of photography I long to shoot. This makes me want to work harder.

(Thank you Jeana)*

A book by the sensational Nick Knight that I would like to carry on my bookshelf. It took him three years to put together, and all the specimens come from the herbarium at the Natural History Museum of London, which boasts an extraordinary collection of animals, and unbeknownst to some, an impressive botanical department that hosts roughly six million flora specimens! Inspired by their beauty he took to photographing them and put this beautiful book together.

Nothing to do with flowers. Everything to do with pretty dressing. Today, I'd like to wear this.

Thistle can be surprisingly beautiful. Grab a pretty vase and throw some in. It lasts at least a week but can go quite longer. There you have it: a nice, lasting & affordable bouquet for the week* Happy Saturday

Jardin Majorelle

There exist a beautiful botanical garden in the middle of the Marrakech (Morocco) called Jardin Majorelle, that lures you in to get lost in it's sea of majorelle blue and exuberant vegetation. It is exquisite, lush, lifting, and a breath of fresh, inspiring air in a rather arid city. Designed by artist Jacques Majorelle and later bought by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé, these gardens hold the magic of Morocco. Go and spend an afternoon here.
